IF YOU LOVE ESCONDIDO, I HOPE YOU'LL FIND A WAY TO SUPPORT IT.

Six months ago, I started writing this blog in response to those who said there was really no reason for people to come to Escondido.  I hope this blog has proved them wrong.  I hope I've showed that Escondido is an interesting, vibrant and beautiful town and a great place to work, visit and live. In the course of writing about the city, I've also come to better understand what makes this city special for me--Dowtown. Grand Avenue is one of a kind.  It is the heart and soul of the city.  People come here to celebrate a special occassion at one of the street's great restaurants.  Old-fashioned parades roll down this street on important holidays.  And here, any day, you can see and feel what it was like downtown in Southern California at mid-century.  So if you want to see this city flourish, I hope you'll find your way downtown now and then.  Go out to dinner.  Visit a museum.  See a play.  Or you could just stop for a glass of wine, sit outside and watch the world go by.  Maybe I'll be sitting at the next table.  And if the hour is right, we'll both be lucky enough to see a wonderful Escondido sunset. See you then and good bye for now. Claire  PS Thanks for the comments and emails.  I've decided to leave the blog up for now with postings edited down.  I can always be reached by the email button.  Peace, Claire
